· In today’s world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most popular and significant fields. It has become an approach to make any computer think in a similar way as a smart human thinks.

Artificial Intelligence is not a new word and not a new technology. It has grown so much it is impacting the future of every industry. Artificial intelligence is starting to act as a high-tech innovator for the future, as it is growing to become one of the revolutionary fields in computer science and will become the main driver for the computer stream in the foreseeable future. It also has a great effect on the social media field and also has become the main driver there.

· What is Artificial Intelligence?

·John McCarthy an American Engineer in 1956 for the first time ever suggested the concept of Artificial Intelligence. Talking about Artificial Intelligence we can say

The intelligence demonstrated by machines is known as Artificial Intelligence

It is the ability of a computer or a computer-driven robot to perform tasks similar to human beings by thinking in their own smart way.

We can also say it is the ability of any computer-driven device to possess intellectual characteristics of human-like reasoning ability, discover meaning, generalize, and learn from past experience.

AI is one of the fascinating and universal fields of Computer science that has a great scope in the future. AI holds a tendency to cause a machine to work as a human.

· What is AI in Social media?

· We can say AI is the science of making computer-based machines smart. Unlike traditional software, AI learns new things to get smarter on its own. AI is used for things like understanding words, people, objects, images, and videos on its own, addition to this, it can also analyze data on its own which becomes important in the social media field as it has many benefits for the admins as well users. AI uses different tools for linguistic detection, content detection, image recognition. Nowadays almost every social media platform interacts with AI in some way, AI has become a key component in the social network. It can automate many tedious tasks related to social media management.

AI is a key component of the popular social networks you use every single day. AI in social media holds the potential to transform how brands market across networks like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube.

·Use of AI in Social Media.

· AI is very useful in social media marketing, and it also has a huge scope in the future. It is much more than promoting yourself or your brand on any social media. It can become one of the top ways to get one step ahead of the competition.

Content Creation: It is one of the most important things in social media marketing, people spend the most time in content creation, AI tools here help to handle certain types of social media creations and AI can also be used for the management of content here. AI has made content creation easier.

Ad creation and Ad performance: AI tools work in collaboration with Facebook and Instagram to make the Ads for you. The Ads are properly optimized for different sites and with the help of AI proper prediction is done when to deploy ads, and a proper schedule is made for the launching of the ads, Ads management is one of the things done through AI by measuring the performance of the ads.

Influencer Outreach: AI can help in finding the right influencer that can put your brand on the map, AI Influencer research can analyze many researchers based on engagement, reach and influence.

Social monitoring: AI social monitoring analyzes social data and understands them, then extracts the insights from the information, this data help to find new target audiences, monitor social mentions, keep track of brand reputation, find the latest consumer trends, etc.

Managing social media platforms (which are saturated with millions of users) is not a simple task; it necessitates a number of considerations.

Social networking firms use artificial intelligence to analyze large amounts of data to determine what’s trending, different hashtags, and patterns. This research aids in the comprehension of user behavior.

Artificial intelligence can monitor unstructured user comments using a variety of techniques to provide a tailored experience and detect crises.

The majority of the top social networking companies have already implemented AI to speed up their processes and grow their businesses.

· What social media platform use AI?

Facebook

Facebook is one of the big social media companies. As Meta is its parent company it shares many similarities with other social media platforms. It uses Facebook Artificial intelligence Researchers known as FAIR, researchers are working to develop and analyze AI systems of human-level intelligence. It uses the AI tool deep text, which is a linguistic AI used to monitor languages, text, etc. It also relies on AI for content moderation, using it to filter offensive images and content. In addition to this, it uses AI through facial recognition for recognizing people through images. Zuckerberg has promised to employ AI to fix some of the company’s and consumers’ most pressing issues, focusing on seven broad categories: Intimidation, Nudity, Suicides, Graphic violence, Terrorism, Spam, and Fake accounts. Automatic Image Recognition, Machine Translation, Talking Pictures, and Chatbots are all examples of AI applications on Facebook.

Instagram is also one of the big social media companies, Meta being its parent company it has many similarities. The AI used here is preference and behavior-based. Through the help of tags and trending information, users using Instagram can find photos and videos for a specific trending activity, events, dining, destination around the world. It uses AI to fight against cyberbullying. Based upon the success of using Deep Text which identifies any spam and discards it. Officials of Instagram saw this as a solution to the problem of identifying and deleting comments which violate the guidelines of the community of Instagram. It also uses AI to target ads and provide you with the content with which you have previously been encountered. It also uses AI through facial recognition for recognizing people through tagged images.

YouTube

YouTube is another social media application that uses AI for recommending videos according to content that you have previously engaged and modifies the “up next feature” according to personal engagement and the newly uploaded videos on YouTube. It is equipped with huge content and other engaging activities that are the reason why AI and machine learning have turned into a notably useful weapon for this platform for automatic removal of harmful and fake content, upholding limitations of age and removal of fake and harmful content by itself. Here, AI is used to flag and detect objectionable content, and also misleading and harmful content in real-time. “New effect on YouTube” has also become achievable because of the use of artificial intelligence. The researchers have trained a neural network model for removing the background on videos without the help of any external feature.

Snapchat

Snapchat is another social media company it uses AI to create filters, for the same Snapchat uses an AI-powered lens with small machine learning models to detect faces, and further it distinguishes the structure and features of the face. And further, create a 3D model of the face. Also, with the inclusion of AR its the ability to create a further time machine, and gender swap filters. It is also used to create a business, and develop market strategies, with help of AI-based algorithms and AR Snapchat is able to imagine the retails with help of the insights of users.

Twitter

Twitter uses artificial intelligence to detect fraud, misinformation, and hostile accounts. Also in fighting hater speech, to optimize their ads. Twitter’s ranking algorithm has ingested a massive amount of data, processed it using deep neural networks, and learned over time what material is relevant for each individual user. All tweets are given a score based on a rating mechanism that determines whether or not a client would appreciate the information in their feed. The ranking model takes into account the content of the tweet, such as whether it included a picture or video and how many retweets or likes it received; the creator of the tweet to see if you’ve worked with them before and the quality of your relationship with them; and the type and tone of tweets you’ve liked in the past.

· Relative merits and demerits of AI in social media.

AI in Social Media Offers social media with Various Benefits.

Image recognition: It can be used to recognize images. It can be used to bring out valuable information from millions of images.

Sentiment analysis: It can help in sentiment analysis on comments, with help of natural language processing we can identify the sentiments.

Security: It also increases security by protecting the user data and also increases the privacy of their information, by authentication, fraud prevention, and other important features.

But also, AI has its own catch, it has a few downsides too.

Misinformation spread: According to whistle-blowers, sometimes a company’s AI algorithm can actively contribute to the spread of misinformation, division, and hate due to mismanagement.

Polarizing content: AI is designed to maximize engagement among users. But sometimes due to polarizing content, this engagement becomes often decisive, and it can cause outrage.

Lack of creativity: The use of AI can also lead to a lack of creativity in content. It can also cause problems for social media marketers, which can spoil the image of the product because the consumer will get bored with the same old products which are recommended by AI according to recent trends.

· Summary

AI has become a key component of the social media network and it is somehow used in our everyday activities. We interact with AI in some way. AI has the potential to transform and increase brand markets across different social media networks. It also can easily automate tedious tasks. It can also be used for social monitoring. As we have seen many social media giants AI makes their management easy and also make things easier on the user side by providing proper security and privacy with help of AI. The future of AI in social media is bright, and further, it has unknowingly become essential to one’s life.
